About
What We Believe
Who We Are:
We are a Family -- believers in Jesus Christ.
We believe . . .
God is the Creator of everything, including humanity. We believe that all have been created in God's image. God is our refuge. People are hurting, troubled, searching, and many find themselves alone and lonely even in the midst of a community the size of Albany. We reach out to our community in order to introduce them to Jesus Christ who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).
We are a multi-generation church-- believers from little children to senior citizens! Each one learning what part they can play in fulfilling God's purposes for their lives.
Welcome! We will welcome you, love you, and help you pursue God's best for your life.
Our Focus
We believe that God has given us five essential purposes to fulfill in our lives.
To bring glory to God through our Worship of Him. Worship is more than the songs we sing, the prayers we pray, and the time we spend together on Sundays. Worship encompasses our lives. So our jobs/careers become an expression of worship as do our hobbies, family life, leisure activities, it's in everything!
To give Respect to the uniqueness we all hold. We value the fellowship we share with others in the Family of God. We pray together and for each other. We are growing in our love for each other and value our unique contribution to the church.
To give Forgiveness to those who have caused us pain. We have a desire to learn more from God's example. We study His word, and work actively to find ways to apply it to our lives. It is important that we trust in him, and we have faith that he will help us realease those who have hurt us.
To join together in Service. God has called us to serve others because life is not just about me, it is about others. As we mature, we focus our eyes on the needs of others.
To be an example of the Love of Jesus Christ. We want to reach out to people and lead by example by doing what is the best for others. God has rescued many of us from some of life's great hurts and troubles. Through our outreach and love, we want others to know what we have found.
Our Mission
Building relationships to help people experience God. We are committed to creating a family like environment that will help each individual in their discovery of the love of Christ.
Membership
We like the way the Church of God identifies its members. No one person decides that another will or will not be admitted to membership in a local group. Neither congregations nor congregational leaders vote on who shall be received as members. The Church of God believes that when one accepts Jesus Christ as Savior, God places that person in the church (Acts 2:47; 1 Corinthians 12:18). Salvation is the criterion for membership in a congregation of the Church of God. Learn more...
